Before Traveling

Check entry and exit requirements for the country you will be visiting. There is a full, updated list available from the Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs. This will help you determine whether you need a visa or other travel restrictions.

Make sure your passport won’t expire during your travels. Many countries require that your passport have 3-6 months remaining.

Buy a neutral passport cover. Some passports are more desired than others and, depending on your destination, your nationality may be viewed as a target. When you need to take out your passport, you won’t advertise your nationality to those around you.
